Custom Molds & Private Tooling

1. Cost & Ownership

Q: How much does a custom mold cost? And who owns it? A:

• The Cost: For a standard custom cap or tube shape, the mold fee is usually around $10,000 USD. (This varies based on complexity).

• The Ownership (Private Mold): If you pay the full mold fee, the mold belongs 100% to you. It is "Private Tooling." We will sign a contract guaranteeing that we will never sell this shape to anyone else without your permission.

• The "Shared" Option: Budget tight? We can discuss splitting the cost (e.g., we pay 50%, you pay 50%). In this case, it becomes a "Public Mold," meaning we have the right to sell this design to other customers.

2. Design Support

Q: I only have a sketch (or a photo). Can you make the 3D drawing? A: Yes, we can. You don't need to hire an expensive industrial designer. Once we start the project, 3D Engineering Drawings (CAD) are included in our service. Just send us your sketch or reference photo, and our engineers will draw it up for you to confirm. We only start cutting steel after you say "Yes."

3. Timeline

Q: How long does it take to get the first sample? A: Developing a new mold is a precise process. Please allow 40 Days from the time you pay the mold fee to the time you receive the T1 Sample (First Trial Sample).

• Note: This includes the time for drawing confirmation, mold manufacturing, and initial testing.

4. Refund Policy

Q: The mold fee is expensive. Can I get it back later? A: Yes, it is negotiable. Think of it as an investment. If your product sells well and your cumulative order quantity reaches a certain target (e.g., 500k units), we can refund the mold fee to you. Talk to our sales team to set a target number.
